ABOUT MY STUDY Over the course of this school year I will be spending time exploring how we as humans interact with space. As an outdoor enthusiast this idea originally come to me after spending a month living among massive glaciated peaks. In such a massive environment I felt nearly insignificant compared to my surroundings. Finding relationships in space did not ent here. When I returned home I began construction on my tiny house, essentially a small box hidden in a dense forest. What I find most interesting about this is that I am not only drawn to wide open spaces but tiny spaces as well.
Throughout this year I will use my photography to showcase relationships between people and the worlds they live in. Many of these images will stem from my trips into the outdoors and other unique environments. My writing will encompass many of the themes in my photographs in addition to answering larger questions about the importance of the outdoors. All the while I will be building and designing a 144 square foot tiny house as learn to efficiently use space. The recurring theme of space will be evident in all of my projects this year.
